The Lady of the Veil
圣母娘娘Shèngmǔ Niángniang
A figure named in the official store text, which pairs the English name with 圣母娘娘 (“Holy Mother”). A fan reading of a demo subtitle mentions a cult of “the Lady Behind the Veil”; treat that as unconfirmed.

The real culture behind it
圣母 means “holy mother”, and 娘娘 is the respectful title for empresses and goddesses, as in 王母娘娘, the Queen Mother of the West. Mother-goddess titles run through Chinese folk religion: the sea goddess Mazu is honoured as 天上圣母, “Holy Mother in Heaven”. In Christian Chinese 圣母 is also the Virgin Mary, and modern slang uses it for a naive do-gooder.
If the fan-read cult holds up, it has a real-world shadow (our reading): from the late 15th century, sects in Ming China worshipped the Eternal Venerable Mother (无生老母), the kind of popular movement the state outlawed as heterodox. No veil appears in the Chinese name; that image is the localisation’s own.
