The real culture behind it
精 is one of the most loaded characters in Chinese thought. Daoist inner alchemy (内丹) counts three treasures in the body, 精, 气, 神 (essence, energy and spirit), and describes practice as refining them in stages: essence into energy, energy into spirit (炼精化气,炼气化神). A gauge of raw 杀气 that condenses into a stock of “refined” 精纯杀气 follows the same logic of distillation; the parallel is our reading, not the studio’s.
绝技, “peerless skill”, is wuxia’s word for a signature move. Novels prize the 独门绝技, a technique no other school possesses, and many fights turn on the moment a master finally unleashes one. Giving every weapon its own 绝技 makes each blade a small school of its own.
