Iron Gauntlets
铁拳tiěquán
A martial-arts Phantom Edge needed against heavy shields. Official State of Play narration speaks of iron fists, Chinese coverage of 铁拳 and 拳套, and Liang named the gauntlets among the new weapons; “Iron Gauntlets” is the menu name as fans read it.

The real culture behind it
In Chinese, 拳 means both the fist and the art: Chinese boxing is 拳术, and styles carry the word in their names, from 太极拳 to 咏春拳. Hard-style training aims to turn the hand itself into a weapon. Iron palm (铁砂掌) conditions the hands by striking bags of sand or iron filings, and Hung Ga, the boxing of Wong Fei-hung’s lineage, preserves a form called Iron Wire Fist (铁线拳) built on breath and dynamic tension.
The weapon has no single historical ancestor; it reads as hard-hand kung fu cast in metal. The everyday phrase 铁拳, “iron fist”, means overwhelming force, which is exactly what a heavy shield calls for. The comparisons are ours.
