Ink Cut
墨血无痕Mòxuè Wúhén
A Phantom Edge sword: tap R2 for a three-hit, medium-range combo whose sword energy lingers if you stop after the second hit, with bonus damage and stun against Huangxing (2025 demo card). Matching English and Chinese demo cards confirm that Ink Cut is 墨血无痕.

Ink Cut is a Phantom Edge, and it is one of the few weapons with an on-screen card in both languages. In S-GAME’s official walkthrough of the 2025 S-Party demo, its card reads: “Repeatedly tap R2 to launch a 3-hit medium range combo. The damaging effect lingers for a while if the combo is interrupted after the second hit. Deals additional damage and stunning effect when used against Huangxing.” A Chinese capture of the same demo shows 墨血无痕 with the same text line for line, and makes clear that what lingers is sword energy (剑气). Its lore line calls it the sidearm of someone named 墨?子 (the third character is hard to read), “its blade like black jade, showing no cold glint”; the rest is cut off.
The January 2025 build shows how the combo looks. gcores describes a one-handed long sword with a striking blue trail: the first press is a wide sweep; pressed again at the right moment, Soul throws the sword out to form a circular sword array that keeps cutting around the enemy; a third press has him catch it in mid-air and finish with a straight thrust. In that build it was the only public Phantom Edge whose energy recharged by itself. Press notes for the Year of the Snake trailer, its first public trailer, say its attacks chain with primary-weapon hits to extend combos and that it “serves as a key plot device” with unique effects in specific battles.
The Huangxing bonus has a history. Ink Cut was playable before that trailer: in the 2024 closed demo, 墨血无痕, also called 墨刀, was one of three Phantom Edges and the reward for the side quest 异闻-英雄悲歌, in an area whose guardian boss was the Kunlun Renegade Huangxing (荒行子). That makes Ink Cut the designated counter to the 血滴子-wielding boss.
All of this comes from demo builds. How the retail game hands it over, whether it still recharges by itself, and what it costs in Remnant Sparks are not yet documented.

Anatomy of the real weapon
The card art is a one-handed straight sword with a gilt guard, so the jian plate is the right frame: a double-edged, ridged blade built for precise cuts and thrusts. Throwing it into a spinning sword-circle and catching it again is wuxia fantasy, not swordsmanship.
Anatomy plate
剑 Jian · straight sword
剑首 jiàn shǒuPommel
The cap at the end of the grip. It counterweights the blade and stops the hand sliding off; early bronze swords often carried concentric rings or jade discs here.
剑茎 jiàn jīngGrip & tang
The handle. The tang (part of the blade itself) runs inside, wrapped in cord, wood, rayskin or silk for grip.
剑格 jiàn géGuard
The crossguard between grip and blade. Chinese jian guards are compact — they protect the hand rather than trap blades.
剑脊 jiàn jǐRidge (spine)
The raised centre line of a double-edged blade. It stiffens the sword; on composite bronze swords the ridge was a softer, tougher alloy than the edges.
剑从 jiàn cóngFlats
The bevelled faces between the ridge and each edge, ground at a shallow angle to keep the edge keen.
剑锷 jiàn èEdges
Both cutting edges. Jian technique favours precise cuts and thrusts with the front third of the blade rather than brute chopping.
剑锋 jiàn fēngPoint
The tip. “Feng” is also the root of words for sharpness and vanguard — the point leads.
剑穗 jiàn suìTassel
A later decorative tassel tied through the pommel; in performance forms it trails the blade and distracts the eye.
The jian is called the “gentleman of weapons”. Its long, ridged, double-edged blade is built for precise cuts and thrusts. Pick a part to see what it does.

The real culture behind it
The card art is a one-handed straight sword, so Ink Cut belongs to the family of the jian (剑), the double-edged straight sword that Chinese records mention from the 7th century BCE and that tradition calls the gentleman of weapons; historical one-handed blades run about 45–80 cm. The item text calls its blade “like black jade, showing no cold glint”. China has a famous dark-patterned sword: the bronze Sword of Goujian, King of Yue (r. 496–465 BCE), covered in black rhombic patterns and excavated in Hubei in 1965. Linking the two is our inference.
无痕, “leaving no trace”, is the assassin’s ideal. In Pei Xing’s Tang tale Nie Yinniang, the girl trains with a sword two chi long, sharp enough to split a hair blown against it, and later stabs a man in the market in broad daylight while “no one could see it” (人莫能见). The thrown sword-circle is fantasy, in the lineage of the flying swords of Legend of the Swordsmen of the Mountains of Shu (1932). One more echo: Du Fu writes that the calligrapher Zhang Xu improved his cursive script after watching Lady Gongsun’s sword dance, a link between blade and ink that may lie behind the name. Both readings are ours.
